We love it! Mornings are pretty hectic at home, and we are not really morning people, so afterward, how can I put it… it is a bit of a race! So I found my ideal recipe for busy mornings.

Almond Pancakes for Baby

Almonds are tree nuts that are excellent for health: they are rich in vitamins, protein, fiber, magnesium… in short, they are packed with benefits! According to scientists, we should eat tree nuts every day to stay healthy 🙂

But almonds can also unfortunately be quite allergenic. Allergists now recommend introducing as many fruits and vegetables as possible into baby’s diet as early as possible to help prevent the development of allergies. But before introducing almonds into baby’s diet, the best thing to do is:

Check whether there is any family history of tree nut allergies (almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts…)

Talk with baby’s pediatrician before introducing them 😉

I prepared this recipe without milk (using water) so it can work for all babies (I am thinking of babies with cow’s milk protein intolerance 😉). You can, however, replace the water with milk in this recipe if you wish!

In this recipe, I decided to introduce almond in powdered form into my pancake batter. For busy mornings, one little almond pancake and off we go for a good day 🙂

Here is what you need to prepare this almond pancake recipe for baby (Dairy-free, from 9 months):

Ingredients

For 10 small pancakes:

1/2 cup all-purpose flour (70 g)

1/2 cup almond flour/ground almonds (55 g)

1/2 cup water (120 ml / 12 cl; can be replaced with milk or plant-based milk)

1 egg

1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder (5 g, about 1/3 packet)

1 tablespoon neutral oil

1 tablespoon sugar (optional, from 12 months)

Preparation

As I was saying, this recipe is extremely simple and quick to make. I often prepare it the night before, and in the morning all I have to do is cook my pancakes three at a time on my crêpe pan!

In a small blender, place all the dry ingredients: 1/2 cup flour (70 g), 1/2 cup ground almonds (55 g), the tablespoon of sugar (optional! And only from 12 months 😉), and 1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder (5 g).

<img decoding="async" class="wp-image-6924" title="" src="https://www.cookingformybaby.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/sucre-pour-pancakes-pour-bebe.jpg" sizes="(max-width: 1100px) 100vw, 1100px" alt="Sugar for baby pancakes" width="1100" height="461" data-pin-title="Almond Pancakes for Baby (Dairy-Free)" data-pin-description="My dairy-free almond pancake recipe is perfect for babies from 9 months and the whole family! Let it rest quietly for at least 1 hour (I personally prepare it the night before and place it in the refrigerator overnight 😉).

<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="wp-image-6922" title="" src="https://www.cookingformybaby.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/pates-pancakes-pour-bebe.jpg" sizes="(max-width: 1100px) 100vw, 1100px" alt="Baby pancake batter" width="1100" height="420" data-pin-title="Almond Pancakes for Baby (Dairy-Free)" data-pin-description="My dairy-free almond pancake recipe is perfect for babies from 9 months and the whole family! The baking powder has done its little job, and if you want fluffy pancakes, leave the air in the batter.

Cooking

Time to cook! Heat a crêpe pan or skillet (use whatever you have) over low/medium heat after rubbing the whole surface with a paper towel lightly coated with neutral oil.

Then use a tablespoon (do not stir the batter!) to pour the batter into the pan, using 2 tablespoons of batter per pancake.

After about 3 minutes, once small bubbles form on the pancakes, you can flip them with a spatula.

<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="wp-image-6920" title="" src="https://www.cookingformybaby.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/cuisson-pancakes-pour-bebe.jpg" sizes="(max-width: 1100px) 100vw, 1100px" alt="Cooking pancakes for baby" width="1100" height="412" data-pin-title="Almond Pancakes for Baby (Dairy-Free)" data-pin-description="My dairy-free almond pancake recipe is perfect for babies from 9 months and the whole family!
