Quince is a wonderful fruit, both sweet and tart at the same time, and it pairs very well with apple or even pear. For this recipe, I’m going to cook it with apple. And I’ll add a tiny pinch of cinnamon (from 6 months) to gently spice everything up… delicious!

Quince is very rich in fiber and contains a lot of vitamin C. It can help prevent baby colic, which is perfect when your little one suffers from it! Its tartness helps baby continue discovering different flavors, ideal during food diversification.

We already know apple, which we use in many fruit combinations for our compotes. But let’s remember that it naturally contains sugar, vitamins, and fiber too. A valuable nutritional boost for baby.

The pinch of cinnamon will add a little spiced note to our compote. That extra little flavor helps awaken baby’s taste buds, and we love that! (We’ll add it to baby’s compote once baby is 6 months old, not before.)

Here is what you need to prepare this apple, quince, and cinnamon compote recipe for baby (from 4 or 6 months, for 3 to 4 portions of compote):

Ingredients

1 firm, bright yellow quince

2 small apples (Golden Delicious, for example, ideal for compotes)

2 pinches cinnamon (from 6 months)

Preparation

<img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1835" title="" src="https://www.cookingformybaby.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/coing-pour-bebe.jpg" sizes="(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" srcset="https://www.cookingformybaby.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/coing-pour-bebe.jpg 1200w, https://www.cookingformybaby.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/coing-pour-bebe-500x319.jpg 500w, https://www.cookingformybaby.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/coing-pour-bebe-300x192.jpg 300w, https://www.cookingformybaby.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/coing-pour-bebe-768x490.jpg 768w, https://www.cookingformybaby.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/coing-pour-bebe-1024x654.jpg 1024w, https://www.cookingformybaby.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/coing-pour-bebe-1170x747.jpg 1170w, https://www.cookingformybaby.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/coing-pour-bebe-585x373.jpg 585w" alt="Quince for baby" width="1200" height="766" data-pin-title="Apple Quince Cinnamon Compote for Baby" data-pin-description="We are going to make an apple, quince, and cinnamon compote for baby (from 4 or 6 months, depending on whether you add the cinnamon or not).
