Mirabelles are in season! Perfect for preparing a little compote for baby 🙂 As already explained for the prune cinnamon baby puree, prune is an excellent natural laxative for baby (so it should not be overused either!). Since mirabelle is a variety of plum, it can also be used for this purpose.
But that’s not all! Mirabelle is rich in sugar, highly energizing, and an excellent source of vitamins.
Here, I’m combining it with apple, specifically Golden Delicious apple as I do for all my fruit purees.
Here’s what you need to prepare this apple and mirabelle baby food puree (From 4 months, this yielded 3 small 3 oz jars each (90g)):
- [adinserter block="11"]
- - About 10.5 ounces (300g) of mirabelles (around thirty)
- - 1 Golden Delicious apple

We cut our apple in half, remove the seeds and stem, and slice it thinly. We’ll place the apple slices on top of the mirabelles in the steamer basket. Then, we steam them for 10 minutes using our mineral water. Here we go!
Once our fruits are cooked, we proceed to blend them. There’s no need to add water as the apples will have absorbed enough. Then, we let it cool in the refrigerator for 2 hours. It’s ready!
Enjoy, baby!
