Cookies for Babies
I really wanted to try making this little cookie recipe with sweet potato instead of egg. It is a great binder and helps avoid giving baby too much animal protein. Sweet potato also lives up to its name and can easily be used in desserts!
You can absolutely use homemade sweet potato purée! Just steam a few diced pieces of sweet potato for about 8 minutes beforehand, then blend them into a purée 😉
The small rolled oats add the grain element to our recipe. Oats are excellent for health and rich in nutrients—perfect!
And finally… the finishing touch for our recipe: chocolate chips chocolate 🙂 To make them look like little ghosts (yes, they are little ghosts, in case you had not figured it out yet, haha), I simply used 2 chocolate chips for the eyes. In the end, I would have gladly added a few more ^^
Here is what you need to make this Halloween recipe for baby: oat, sweet potato and chocolate cookies (from 12 months, makes about 12 cookies):
Ingredients
Preparation
Start by preheating the oven to 350°F (180°C).
Next, the sweet potato. If, like me, you are using a Popote sweet potato pouch, simply add the full pouch to a mixing bowl and mix well. If you are using homemade sweet potato purée, add 100 g sweet potato purée to a bowl and add 2 tablespoons water. Mix well.

We then add vanilla extract, about 3 drops.

Mix everything together. Then add the teaspoons of oil.

Finally, add the small rolled oats, which are easier for baby to chew. I bought them at an organic store!

Mix everything together, and once the mixture is nice and even, divide the dough into 12 portions (to make 12 small cookies…) and start shaping the little cookies into ghosts. Clearly, I kept it very simple, as you can see ^^ Once your ghost shape is finished, do not forget to add the chocolate chips for the eyes! Just press them lightly into each cookie.

Cooking
Once the oven is hot, let’s cook for 12 minutes! 😉
Remove the cookies from the oven once the time is up, and let them cool for a few moments. These cookies are crisp on the outside and soft on the inside! Remember to always serve this type of food to baby under supervision.
Enjoy, baby!
