These little zucchini and feta flans are exactly the kind of easy recipe we love: just a few ingredients, an ultra-melting texture, and a simple way to offer zucchini in a different form (with a little cheese) to baby from 7 months.
They are perfect for dinner as a light meal, or even in mini portions for lunch with a starch and a small extra serving of protein (optional, in addition to the small amount of egg in the recipe).
Bonus: they are quick to make with ingredients we often already have on hand!
Why this recipe is great for baby (from 7 months)
- Soft, melting texture: easy to swallow and ideal when baby is just starting solids with soft pieces: these little flans melt in the mouth.
- Zucchini: a mild-tasting vegetable that is easy to offer early on.
- Egg + cream: they add softness and protein (and a little fat, which is useful at this age).
- A small amount of feta: it adds flavor, but we use it sparingly because it is salty!
For younger babies, stick with a small amount of feta and do not add any salt.
Ingredients
For 6 small flans:
How to make zucchini feta flans for baby
Start by preheating the oven to 350°F (180°C).
Cut the zucchini into large dice, wash it, then steam it for 8 minutes.

Once cooked, let it cool slightly, then drain it very carefully (this is the key step for flans that hold their shape). I like to press the zucchini in a clean kitchen towel to remove as much water as possible.

Blend the zucchini until you get a very smooth purée.

In a large bowl, beat the egg with the cream, then add the zucchini purée.
Finally, add the crumbled feta and mix gently.

Pour the zucchini feta flan mixture into 6 small molds or ramekins that have been buttered beforehand.

Baking
Bake the flans for 30 minutes at 350°F (180°C). After baking, let them cool for about 10 minutes before gently unmolding them with a spatula.
You will get small, super-soft zucchini feta flans, perfect for baby!
Enjoy 🙂
Storage
- In the fridge: 48 hours in an airtight container
- Freezing: Up to 2 months (ideal in individual portions).
- Reheating: in a low oven, gently in the microwave, or steamed for a few minutes. Let them cool to a lukewarm temperature before giving them to baby.
Frequently asked questions
At what age can baby eat these flans?
From 7 months, with a smooth, soft texture. Adapt according to your baby (pieces, cheese, tolerance, etc.).
Isn’t feta too salty for baby?
Yes, feta is salty, which is exactly why we use a small amount (15 g for 6 flans) and do not add any salt. If you prefer, you can replace it with ricotta or a less salty cheese.
Why do the flans release water?
Almost always because of the zucchini: it contains a lot of water. You need to drain it very well after cooking; pressing it in a kitchen towel is the ideal method.
Can I replace the cream?
Yes, with plain yogurt, fromage blanc, or even a plant-based cream. The cream simply gives a softer, more melt-in-the-mouth result.
How should I serve these flans to baby?
You can serve them in small, soft pieces, or mashed with a fork, with a starch for example (pasta, rice, couscous) for a complete meal.
